This baby turned five months old. What?? Don’t ask me where time has gone.
Ella went across the street to play with my parents. They built a pink castle together. Here at home, Poppy took her morning nap. This all happened at the same time. I got to have morning.craft.time.
Poppy tried out her soon-to-be accommodations.
While big sister’s away, the little sister will play – with her toys.
I took a little extra time getting ready – twisted my unwashed hair into three messy buns.
We had a fun lunch date with my parents and a long trip to Target after. My mom spoiled the girls.
Somewhere in here things started to get hairy…
Ella skipped her nap but gained ten times the energy, then turned into a monster/tornado combo.
I failed at dinner and we had cheap pizza. I didn’t even make salads. But we did eat nectarines. Oh Katy…
Oh and someone got new spexys. I mean specsies. Specs, I mean specs.
Today turned out to be really lovely. I wouldn’t have expected it, waking up in the groggy mood I did. I wouldn’t have expected it, considering all day yesterday I let out long sighs when I realized its tomorrow would not be Friday. Honestly I can’t even remember what Monday looked like…
But today was a lovely day.
Storytime was nuts this morning. I don’t know what it was about today, but all the kids from down the street and the next neighborhood over were in that room. And they were crazy. Kids taking their shirts off, kids rolling down the steps. (Wait were we at Storytime or Mardi Gras?) We couldn’t hear the stories but it was fun to see all the mayhem.
After Storytime, we met Ant and his dad for a spontaneous pizza lunch date. Then it was home for books and (extended) naps.
Ant came home and we played for a bit, then headed out to my current (maybe forever) obsession – Chipotle. I am telling you, I cannot get through a week without having a major Chipotle craving. I try really hard to fight it, I do. And we ate out on the patio…swoon.
We headed out to the pet store and had some looksies at the animals. Ella loved the “Nemo” fish and the turtles. She said the turtles were cute. I have a completely different opinion but by the end of our visit, I was beginning to warm up to them.
Ella was so funny standing in front of their tank, saying things like:
“Hi tuddle, my name’s Ella!” and
“Be cay-ful, tuddle!”
Then, then, we went for ice cream. And Miss Ella had what else but strawberry. She sampled Mama and Daddy’s flavors and PoppyLou played peek-a-boo from her stroller.
What made the day so lovely was spending good quality time with this family we’ve created. I’m so in love.
Plans for tomorrow include watching the Royal Wedding coverage with Ella Faye. She recognizes the couple every time they show up on TV and says, “Oh, look! The prince and the gihl! They get may-weed!” I think she’ll like seeing her Disney fairytales coming alive with real people. (And I’m excited too.)
Also, I have booked a date with my man(cake) in the evening. A baby-less date, that’s right! This will be the first time leaving both girls with my parents. I think we’ll see a movie and have a popcorn/pop/maybe-a-donut-too dinner. Being an adult has its perks…
And! That dream dinner is only possible because today I found out that I do not have diabetes! That deserves more of these…!!!! I put that test off for way too long after I delivered Poppy, and for what? I’ve got to stop doing things like that. Hip hip hooray! Over and out.
It’s Wednesday, the day that most weeks I find to be the least impressive. Today was a nice exception to that trend. It was made better with simple highlights throughout the day. Here they are:
- I captured a four and a half minute long video of Little PoppyLou smiling and cooing. Sweet perfection. It made me want to eat her.
- I took a shower at 5:30 this evening and had Ant fetch the freshly cleaned towels straight from the warm tumble of the dryer. Amazement. How have I never experienced a warm towel straight out of the shower? Have you? If not, you must do it. I think there ought to be a service just for this. Someone you could hire to hand you a warm towel straight out of the showe…nevermind, that’s a little creepy. Maybe just stick with your roomie.
- I got to take a shower. I had to ask Ant when I washed my hair last. It had been that long.
- Ella and I watched a little PBS this morning and she actually wanted to sit in my lap. Sweet perfection again.
- I conducted a little experiment with Ella’s lunch today. A big E holds more sandwich surface area and proves to be more edible than a cookie cutter flower sandwich. She ate. it. all.
- Lunchtime dance party! We had to get out of our chairs today. Ella even broke out the maracas.
- I washed three loads of laundry. I even remembered to put them in the dryer! (Now that is huge for me.)
- We continued our !Chipotle Wednesdays! trend. So delicious. Tonight I got a little crazy and ordered the crispy tacos.
- I visited this blog today and watched her cute video tour of the GROWop. I saw my little plush in action, just sitting away in shop, keeping company with loads of other handmade and found goodies. Thanks for the peek, Ashley! I love it! (And now I need to get that app…)
Take a peek!!
- Now I am off the computer for the night to slink into bed and watch Modern Family with a coupl’a sweet treats (a cupcake and my man).
