Telling us the way it all works…
While I was drafting Poppy’s Tiny Style post last week, I came across this one from October that had somehow gotten lost and overlooked. Looking through these pictures was a sweet flashback. Ella was newly three and pre-bangs. This type of outfit is perfect for the sort of weather we’ve been having lately. Shorts and a tank, with a jacket easily layered. We could add a pair of tights to work with the lower temps and wind of this past week. I love the softness of the shorts with the structure of her denim jacket. This is one of my favorite pieces of hers…I just can’t get over a little girl in a denim jacket!
Ella wore this on our outing to Agritopia one Fall morning last year. We ate at Joe’s Farm Grill then walked the property and ran up and down the paths. Afterward we stopped in at The Coffee Shop for cupcakes. It was such a fun family day.

Here’s to the weekend! It could be a big one for us – we may be venturing into the land of potty training over here. We’ll see if there’s anything to share next week! Oh boy, wish us luck!!
What’s on your wishlist for the weekend?

Lately Poppy has started to notice the process of picking out clothes and getting dressed, and every time I walk past her closet, she’s pointing and telling me what she wants to wear. I’ve only got this much time left to dress her, I can already feel it. Soon she’ll be matching polka dots with plaid with floral with hot pink with sparkles and looking like the cutest crazy person ever (ahem, like her big sister). I’ve only got a little time left to play dress up with this girl, and then everything will have to pass Poppy-approval.
Over the weekend Anthony found her standing in front of Ella’s closet, pointing up and chirping, and this little frock is what they came out with. What sweet luck, it fits!
I bought this dress from Kidwonder last year. It’s a size two and at the time Ella was on the verge of three-dom but I couldn’t pass it up. She did get to wear it a couple times, but then all of a sudden, just like that, she became a giant.
Luckily this weekend, it passed Miss Poppy’s approval.
I love Kidwonder! Have you been? I also love Frecklewonder! I’ve purchased a few my-size vintage pieces from Jenny’s shop and her blog is a daily read. If you haven’t visited, get over there!
I love the hand smocking and sewn-in petticoat of this dress. Can you imagine, little girls running around in these dresses every day? I think these girls need a few more…

I thought this was a party...LETS DANCE!

Yay! It’s our first Tiny Style post! I am so excited about this.
Little Miss Ella Faye has a pret-ty keen sense of style. She likes fancy, stripes, polka dots, floral, bright, frilly, purple, pink, shiny, plaid, gingham…and all of it together. All at once.
Ant and I used to think she resembled Fancy Nancy. For a very long time, she was Ella’s fashion idol. Now I think Ella has surpassed Nancy.
Elegant Ella > Fancy Nancy.
It’s not often that I get to dress the girl these days. Her strong will encompasses all aspects of her being, including control over the clothing pieces she wears.
This dress came from a box of old clothes I wore as a baby and little girl. Most of the box was filled with baby dresses and tops, which I have been loving dressing Poppy in, but there were also a few toddler dresses and summertime shirts just waiting for Ella.
I have a distinct memory of helping my mom in our kitchen while I wore this dress. I love it so much.
This day, Ella chose this little number herself and it was just happy kismet that her favorite shoes of the moment happened to match. I love the contrast that these photos deliver. Sweet dress, sparkly shoes, bruised little legs. Perfect two year old.
(I just cut this one’s hair a couple weeks ago and looking at these photos, I am kind of missing the long goldi-locks. She is a fan of her new short bob though, and that is all that matters.)
Tiny Outfit:
Dress: vintage from her mama’s closet
Purse: It’s a Mary Poppins carpet bag! (from the Broadway Musical)
Sandals: Target
Do you have little ones at home? Do they still let you pick their outfits for them? When did you start picking out your own clothes?
