Days of Summer

September 23rd, 2011

So long Summer!

You blew in early with a dry heat, so eager to make your appearance that our Spring was almost nonexistent. You brought us sweltering days, giant dust storms, and near the end of your stay, a few gloomy monsoon rains. While I don’t think we’ll miss your 100° plus days, we’re so grateful for all the fun you brought us this year.

You made us venture out for ice cream dates, warmed up our picnics, and took us out to the zoo. The sun warmed our skin as we ran through sprinklers and dodged fat drops of hose water.

You took us to the beach where we played in waves and sand and tasted the salty water of Summer.

You brought us birthdays, an anniversary, a handful of firsts and milestones, and a reason to stay inside and play.

You were good to us, Summer. Thanks for the memories, see you next year.

Now bring on the Fall!!
