Our Fourth

Hey all! How was your 4th of July? I hope it was full of yummy food, fireworks, and good times.

We tried to beat the heat as much as possible this year and went to Pita Jungle with my parents for dinner. Not as American as burgers and barbecue, but so delicious nonetheless! We came home to take a few photos before heading out for the fireworks show.

It was disorienting going out at the girls’ bedtime (it’s been so long since I’ve driven at night!). On the way to find a prime spot for the fireworks show, Ella said, “Mom, I sink I’m too tired to see fireworks.” Such honesty – I thought she’d be thrilled to go out so late! Of course she loved the show and the apple pie my parents packed for our little picnic. Even Poppy woke up and saw her first fireworks.

The girls fell right to sleep on the way home and Ant and I enjoyed some quality time. What should have been about a five minute drive turned into around 40 minutes. But sometimes traffic isn’t so bad…

It was a really nice evening.
