Easter Weekend

Poppy’s first Easter

Sunday morning I woke up and lay in bed waiting to hear Ella over the monitor. I was anxious to hear what she’d say about the eggs on her floor but I think they kind of just confused her. She is a very orderly child – everything has its place, and those eggs were not there when she went to bed…

We went in to get her up and let her follow the egg trail into the front room. We rummaged through what the Easter Bunny left in our baskets. Ella Faye was pretty excited about her Rody horse.

Good morning!

She really loves this glow-in-the-dark wand too. I think this may be her new favorite thing. Do any of you with kids out there watch Super Why on PBS? It’s Ella’s favorite show and immediately when she started playing with this wand, she started reciting everything that “Princess P” says. “My speh-ing (spelling) wand!” “With dis wand, I can make a O!” “Princess P to da riscue!”

I was so grateful to be feeling better enough to make it to Mass, and off to church we went, in our Easter best. (That’ll be tomorrow…geez, are you tired of our Easter yet?) :)

After church we went to my parents’ house for fun and gathering with family. I was so proud of Ella for not being shy. It took her a little while to warm up to everyone, but soon she was chatting and riding her Rody and blowing bubbles and climbing into pie cabinets…

She completely won my heart again with this. Ridiculously funny and cute. Just have a hand ready to knock on the door and this could entertain her for hours. She is the perfect size. I remember when the most fun thing I could think to do was sit in a box. I wish I could fit in that pie cabinet with her…

After lots of food and desserts and nice visits, we came home and relaxed the rest of the night.

Now we are left with cookies and candy and a two pound chocolate bunny (thanks Mom and Dad). I have been drinking hot tea like a mad woman.

Feeling better and feeling blessed. Grateful to know the real spirit of this Easter season. Here’s to new life and new beginnings. Here’s to you and a wonderful week.
