Princesses On Ice

April 21st, 2011

Two weeks ago, Ant and I took the girls to see Disney Princesses on Ice.

Anyone who knows Ella Faye knows that she’s nutso for any and all Disney princesses. The girl is obsessed. In the days leading up to the show, she’d see it advertised on TV and exclaim, “Oh, I go see dem!” She also started referring to the show as “Princesses In Ice!!!” That would’ve been fun to see.

The night of the show, Ella was dressed to the nines. She requested her cha cha (read: tutu) from Auntie T and Snow White shirt I’d made for her birthday party last year. She went into her dress-up bucket and found her sparkly red headband. She slipped her little feet into her red saltwater sandals. She was a little Snow White.

Ant and I really wanted to make it “Ella’s special night” so we left the house early and stopped at our favorite burger place to dine outside. We piled back in the car with our milkshakes and headed for the show.

On our trek up to the arena, I felt like I was about to walk into Disneyland. I had anticipation of my own, and Ella’s excitement knocked it up even more. Everywhere I looked there were little girls toddling around in tutus, princess gowns, pink all over, and sparkles. I think it was the cutest scene I’ve ever witnessed.

Ella had a ball. As each princess made her way out onto the ice, she’d call out her name. “Oh, dare’s So White!” “Dat’s Jazzin!” She was equally excited by the witches and evil queens.

Every time a song would end, her hands would fly up above her head and she’d clap her little heart out.

A familiar song would begin and Ella would turn to Ant or me and flash us this huge knowing, excited smile. Like she was in on a secret, like she was a part of the show.

Every time she’d turn and flash us that great big smile, my eyes would tear up. She was having the best time, and I’m so glad we were there to see her loving it. I think my heart swelled, being there with her. I’ll remember this little outing forever, and I hope she does too.

It was just so so fun.

If you follow me on Twitter, you may have already seen these photos, but I had to share them here!

And of course we had to take some of the girls in their outfits before we headed out…

Ella refuses to be wrangled for photos these days.

She always looks like she is about to dart…

And if she is willing to pause her activities and look at the camera, we get this little cheese face…

But that’s alright. It’s a cute face regardless.

And until she comes around to being photographed again, we’ve got this little spunk.

She even lets us stick bows on her head and wrap her in a mini tutu. Hee!

Goodness me, I love these girls!
