All Is Calm
December 27th, 2010

Just a quick note to look back on someday when I feel like I need some centering.
It is the most wonderful, serene day here in my life. I feel completely at peace, so calm, living in the warmest factions of life at this moment.
This morning Ant & I plotted out our week to come. With his entire week off and it being the last one before Poppy arrives, we want to squeeze in as much family time as possible. Today’s simple agenda: lunch out with my parents, grocery shopping, and naptime.
This afternoon while little Ella Faye slept, I fixed the makings of a big Italian feast. Prepped the meatballs, stoved over my homemade spaghetti sauce. It felt good to get back in the kitchen, chopping and dicing and stirring and mixing with my hands.
When the wee wakes up, it’s off to Yaya and Papa’s for some more playtime, and I will get to have some play of my own. Crochet time for me, maybe outside under the grey clouded skies.
This evening we’ll feast with my parents, then head out for one last walk through the Christmas lights with hot cocoa in hand.
Everything is done with the quiet assurance that our new baby will be here any day now. Always in the back of my mind. This makes me peaceful, grateful, and full of beautiful life.
All is calm, all is bright.
Sweetest wishes,
XO – Katy
Edit: Funny, before I got to post this, Ella woke up in her current afternoon anger phase. I am still posting this for the reason stated above. Some moments are serene, some are hectic, and that is life. I am still adjusting to living in a toddler’s world.
