Spinning My Wheels

December 1st, 2010

To spin one’s wheels:

To make no progress despite making an effort.

To go nowhere.

To sew up a leg and find there was no thread in my bobbin.

To sew up an arm and find there was no thread in my bobbin.

(Why does this keep happening??)

Every day I go a little nuts at some point and hit my way-too-stressed level.

And then there’s the booth to finish up!  And all the little details!!  Me oh my, I am overwhelmed.

The show is coming quickly.  I have just two days left.  Am I going to get it all done??

I feel like I keep working and working and just can’t get ahead.  But I have a good inventory so far and I think I’ll be happy with whatever else I can get made to offer up.

After all, the biggest thrill of this whole experience is seeing this crafty ambition come to life after so many years.  I have worked so hard to get my handmade goods out into the public, and it really feels so exhilarating to have this opportunity.

I will keep spinning my wheels and hopefully by Friday I will end up a little further ahead than I am right now.

Here’s hoping today is fruitful and productive.  I’ll be back later to share the progress so far.  Hopefully that will make me feel better and not more anxious.

Happy Wednesday!

How is it Wednesday already??
