Saturday Business

November 20th, 2010

It was a lovely relaxing Saturday at our house. Ant had to work this morning, which was a bummer.  But Ella and I salvaged that time with little activities and bouts of fun.  And I documented via the Hipstamatic…

I started the morning with a little crochet in bed.  Mmm, there is nothing like it.  The smell of the heater, blankets over your legs, Christmas music softly pouring out beside you, and your yarn and hook.  Deliciously cozy.

We had breakfast together, of course.  We were out of milk so I introduced Ella Faye to soy milk in her cereal and I think she liked it.  She asked for seconds.  Then we had a mini dance party and sang “Jinga Balls.”

The weather was beautiful.  I turned the Christmas music up loud in the house and opened a kitchen window to let it spill through to the yard.  I threw a sweater over my jammies, moved my coffee to the patio table, and perched my skein of yarn on my lap.  Ella brought her tub of toys out and ran everyone around the little orange tree.  We spent a couple of hours out there until the sprinklers caught Ella right in the middle of the yard.  Then she dutifully packed her friends up and told me we were done.

So it was inside for snack time.  Apples with a little snug and cozy movie watching.  (My pick – “Love Actually.”  I told her there is a cute little British boy in it and she was excited to see him but when he didn’t show up right away, she lost interest.  She waits for no man.)

And a sly little kitty in a toy box waiting for naptime so she can steal all the untidy toys.

I got a lot done on my new holiday hats today and even convinced my little busybee to model a few for me.  I’m hoping to get them in the shop soon!!

Short and sweet tonight, just like our Saturday.  Tomorrow calls for church, thrifting with a friend, and hopefully smearing some Christmas cheer up, down, and across this house.  And more crochet.  My hands will be busy for the next couple of weeks!!

Hoping the rest of your weekend is fabulous!
