Halloween Around These Parts

Disclaimer: I can’t help myself…
Forgive me…
…Tons of photos to follow…
…Here we go…
We started our festivities off with a fun photoshoot after church.

It was so fun. I think we’ll be doing more of these shoots with holiday props in the next couple months. Just a warning…
Ella requested a kitty face on her pumpkin and this year she helped me clean it out. Then I carved while she did yardwork with Daddy…

I wish we’d gotten out before sundown for some daylight photos, but this Autumn sun just disappears so fast! Next year maybe we’ll eat dinner in our costumes. Or eat dinner at 4 o’clock…

Here’s our little Snow White.

This is what she was supposed to wear at her birthday party a month ago. Her Snow White birthday party. Fitting, right? But the morning of her party she was busy ruling her Twos and insisted on wearing a fleece polka dot hoodie and no pants. And her boots. Sometimes she is sweet like this and sometimes she is spicy like that. I like her.

I made her top and fastened a bow to her glittery headband. She got to borrow one of Mommy’s necklaces. It was cute the way she handled it so delicately – she was a proud big girl.
Her tights were Old Navy from last year and her sparkly shoes were a gift from Yaya and Papa.
Her tutu was a birthday gift from Auntie Teresa. She loves this tutu. It’s handmade by TinyTutuBoutiqe and it’s the cutest tutu I’ve ever seen. I predict more tutus in Ella Faye’s future.

After last night, I really want to enroll her in a ballet class, just so I can send her out into the world in a tutu more often.

Ant wore a dwarf hat left over from Ella’s birthday party. She gave him a kiss on the forehead just like Snow White does in the movie with her little dwarfs.

I donned a witch hat and carried a basket of apples (best apples I’ve ever had – organic Fuji from Sprouts!). It was a little odd – tempting my daughter with a poison apple. But she loves the witch in Snow White too…

She couldn’t resist…

Eating an apple while everyone else is gobbling up candy. What a kid, what a kid…
We wrapped up the night at Yaya and Papa’s, watching all the princesses and goblins approach and collect their candy.
Then we came home and watched “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!” for (maybe) the last time this year. But probably not. She’s crazy for Boppy Boos.

I already have an idea for next year’s costumes brewing and boiling in my head.
How was your Haunting Day?

Your pictures are beautiful!! Thanks so much for the kind words about my tutu’s, I love seeing little girls in them. I have been a dance teacher for over a decade and ballet is the way to go, you would be surprised at how much it will help her in her life.
Thanks again!
