One little monkey jumping on the bed…

This is one of Ella Faye’s favorite finger play songs.  We sing it every day before nap, only we change the monkey to Ella.  And instead of jumping, Ella does her best downward dog pose on the bed.  (She’s really good at it.)

One little baby bouncing on the bed…

The other morning I woke up at 1:30.  There was a little monkey bouncing on the bed.  Only this time, the bouncing was happening in my belly.  I was on my left side and this little girl was pushing off against the bed, her feet (presumably) and the bed gently pinching my belly between the two.  It was non-stop.  I tried to ignore it – my body was actually comfortable, and that is rare these days.  I would drift off and she’d go at it again, bounce bounce……bounce.

It was 2am and my body was not comfortable anymore.  I rolled to the other side and then she stopped bouncing.

But then I was convinced that I had just positioned her to balance on her head, and then I couldn’t sleep anyway.

So I rolled back to my left side.

And the bouncing began again.

This week I thought I’d include the other people anticipating the arrival of our little bouncing monkey.

He looks like he’s posing but he’s not.  (He just always looks…like…that.)  I snapped this while he was watching Ella run past.

Little goose.  How do you teach them not to pick the flowers?  Every petal she sees must end up in her hand.  It’s her current calling – Flower Picker Extraordinaire.

My green legs reminded me of the dancing gams at the beginning of Footloose.  You know, the olive green alien legs in red pumps that sway from side to side?  My legs reminded me of those legs, only not as flexible.

Whoa! How did I sneak onto this post? I like that you included Ella’s outfit into your breakdown. She loves those boots…which is trouble as we’ve already found out.

It’s a good thing little Ella Faye likes flowers, since we might need a flower girl sometime soon(ish)… we’ll take her boots and all! xo fooza t
