The other night as we were leaving my parents’ house, we picked up a black garbage bag stuffed with heavy plastic. In it were Ella’s inflatable swimming pools, rolled up and packed away safely until next summer. I didn’t realize what it meant, to be carrying that bag across the street to our attic, but I suppose it’s time to say farewell to summer.
Here, in the desert, the dry heat would allow us to prolong summertime activities for another couple of months. And after looking back through these photos, we may do just that.
