Ant Turns 26

While Ant’s birthday was two weeks ago and I am just now getting to post this, I think it is just in keeping with the theme of being behind schedule around here.  (Hey at least I am consistent!)  I couldn’t stand to not show some photos of his birthday week, so here we are:

I think these might be my most favorite photos yet of my two together.  Every time I look at these I feel like I am catching a glimpse of the future.  Is it just me or does she look like a teenager here??  Look at that smile!

These photos take my breath away.

I like Ant’s face in the bottom left one.  It looks like he just realized we’re going to be in for trouble in about 10 years.  (Now make that times two.)

26 and feeling fine

That evening we stuck a candle atop the mountain of chocolate brownie cookies Ella and I baked that morning and the birthday boy made a wish…

…maybe that his real birthday cake would come out as planned.

Here we have Attempt #2 of Homemade Ice Cream Cake.  Fudge brownie base, thick layer of peanut butter, and coffee ice cream mountain molded on top.  Covered with chocolate shell.  It was massive and turned out much more eye-appealing than last year’s.  (Although I missed the leaning tower effect.)

Let’s hear it for the boy!
