G is for Grandparents
June 30th, 2010
It is really great for a little girl to live across the street from her grandparents.
There are all kinds of benefits.
There’s a big backyard for running through grass.
There’s a bucket swing to “sing, sing, sing” in and float through warm breezes.
There’s a play pool for splashing on hot summer days.
There’s Gramma and her speedy little scooter with the loud beeping horn.
There’s Papa to peek at through the back door and knock knock knock at.
There’s Yaya to cook with and throw the ball around.
There are Disney movies galore on little girl height shelves, perfect for pulling out and sorting through, until just the right princess strikes a fancy.
There’s a big comfy couch with pillows and blankets to snuggle with and watch those classic Disney tales on VHS.
There’s a Sit ‘n’ Spin. A Mommy’s favorite toy now introduced to a new little girl.
There are lots of remotes for phone conversations.
There’s a big red wagon full of toys and stuffed friends.
There’s plenty of space to run around in circles and dole out hugs and kisses.
But more important than any of those wonderful things, there’s a Yaya, a Papa, and a Gramma. Who love to treat their little girl.
And when you live across the street from your grandparents, all sorts of surprises are bound to happen.
Like hearing a knock on your front door and opening it to find a brand new friend waiting just for you.
Thank goodness for grandparents.
